Ullas Karanth show&tell India's tiger conservation

Erika Check, Nature's biomedical correspondent, visits Nagarhole National Park where the tiger population is about 60. Estimating how many tigers roam India's reserves is difficult, with pawprint counts (used by Poject Tiger) disputed by scientists who prefer camera-trapping. Check's account is published in Nature 22nd June 2006 pp.927-930.
